5-Minute Meeting Prep

Walk in knowing the 3 questions coming, the 2 nobody will ask, and your answer to the strongest counter-argument.

Everyone else is winging it.

Most meetings are a room full of people improvising, and the person who prepared for 5 minutes sounds like a genius. That's the whole trick.

You already know your material. What you don't have is the shape of the conversation: what's coming at you, what you'll fumble, and the one question that would change the direction of the room.

I do this in the 5 minutes before a call, on my phone, and it has saved me more than once.

The prompts

1. Start here

The questions coming, plus the ones nobody thinks to ask.

The question map
I have a meeting about [topic] with [who and their role]. Ask me what I already know, then give me the 3 questions most likely to be asked and 2 that nobody will ask but should.

2. Go deeper

Your position, stress-tested before someone else does it.

The stress-test prompt
Write my position on this in one sentence, then give me the strongest argument against it and how I'd answer that without getting defensive.

3. Bonus

The question that redirects the whole room.

The redirect prompt
Give me the single question I could ask in the first 5 minutes that would change the direction of this meeting, and tell me when to use it.

Bonus: Make it yours

Tell Claude who's difficult in the room and why. The prep gets sharper and slightly more tactical.

Do this today: run it before your next call, even a 15-minute one. Especially a 15-minute one.
