The Time-Leak Audit

Claude can find the 4 hours you lose every week. Reconstruct one real day, hour by hour, and see the gap between where the time went and where you thought it went.

You didn't waste the day, it leaked.

You finish a full day, look back, and can't name what you did. Nothing dramatic went wrong. There was no 3-hour black hole. The time went out in 10-minute drips you never noticed.

Time-tracking apps fail because you have to remember to use them, and you're already the person who forgets. Reconstructing one day after the fact takes 8 minutes and works better.

I did this on a Tuesday I was sure had been productive. It had 90 minutes of actual work in it.

The prompts

1. Start here

Claude walks you back through a real day and shows you the gap.

Prompt
Interview me hour by hour about what I did last [pick a normal weekday], one question at a time. Then show me where the time actually went versus where I assumed it went.

2. Go deeper

Splits the day into the three kinds of hours, and the third one hurts.

Prompt
Now group those hours into work only I can do, work I do out of habit, and time lost switching between the two. Give me the honest count for each.

3. Bonus

One change, chosen for return, not for effort.

Prompt
Design one change to that day that buys back the most time for the least disruption, and tell me exactly what it will cost me to make it.

Bonus: Make it yours

Run it on your worst day of the week, not your best. The leaks are bigger and easier to see.

Do this today: pick one weekday and reconstruct it before you forget. You can't plug a leak you've never located.
