Turn a Vague Goal Into Monday's First Step
Goals fail because they have no door. These 3 prompts build the first 5 steps and the one you'd skip.
"Get fit" is not a goal, it's a mood.
You've wanted it for months. You've thought about it constantly. You haven't started, and you've decided that means something about you.
It doesn't. A goal that big has no door in it. There's nowhere to walk in, so you stand outside and feel bad, which is a lot of effort for zero progress.
Every goal I've actually finished started as a stupidly small first step. Every one I abandoned started as a plan.
The prompts
1. Start here
Turns the mood into 5 things you can physically do.
My goal is [goal]. Ask me 4 questions to make it specific enough to start, then give me the first 5 actions in order, each small enough to do in under 30 minutes.
2. Go deeper
Finds the step you'd quietly skip, before you skip it.
Now tell me which of those 5 I'm most likely to avoid, why, and rewrite it so it's harder to skip than to do.
3. Bonus
Two weeks, one measurement, no vibes.
Build the 2-week version: what I'll have done by day 14, and the one measurement that proves I've actually started rather than just planned.
Bonus: Make it yours
Tell Claude what you tried last time and where it fell over. The plan gets much less generic and much more annoying, in a good way.
Do this today: do step 1. Not all 5. The door only has to open once.
